I have a 2000 boxster s, I'm thinking og going to an independent service outfit , any recommendations - I also want to carry my 5 year old son in the car, is there a way to turn off the airbag other than paying those nice people at AFN nearly £200 to fit the deactivation bar

thanks

I have heard of people buying them on ebay and fitting it themselves but you have to get some sort of buckle to fit into the one on the bar if you do not want to use a Porsche child seat.

Also the OPC has to do something electronic so that the Airbags deactivate so that may cost an hours labour or so.

Some people over on Boxa.net have done this so why don't you try a search on www.boxa.net

thanks for info and tip on where to look - on servicing I just used Jaz in Wembley - well impressed, car well looked after, stuck to prices quoted and a friendly crew - highly recommended to those tired of AFN
