Track down previous owner ?
Discussion
Hi
Looking for a bit of help
My 2003 996C4S had a replacement service book in 2006 I was hoping to track down the owner from 2006 see if he can shed any light on it, he serviced it 5 times at main dealer so looked after it well.
(or any of the owners, the last owner before me had it for over 6 years and looked after it very well had an engine rebuild in that time)
Back in 2006 it was on private Reg: R888JEB I think it was bought then from Porsche Cardiff?
The first service in the replacement service book was done at Porsche Centre Cardiff in 2006, then 4 more services at Porsche Centre Cardiff 5 in total up to 2009
Then in 2009 in was on reg: M11ESV for a while
I think he sold it around 2011 as services then started in Coventry in 2011 it was then on reg: D4JJS (which shows now on a Panamera) until he sold it in December 2017 (I bought it Jan 2018 from a dealer)
Hope it all makes sense
N
ps i do have the names but didn’t want to put them on a public forum :-)

Have you tried Facebook, twitter etc ?
A mate of mine had exactly the same problem as you with a 997, originally it belonged to some one famous ? So they retained all receipts and documents and failed to hand over the leather wallet thing at trade in, a replacement was sourced and all the correct stamps were added to make up the new book but try as he might be could not find out who the previous owner was ?
This was last year, GDPR had taken these details out of the public domain and the main dealer was shaken by his continued demands eventually putting him through to head office ! Porsche U.K. confirmed the services but refused point blank to divulge anything other than place if service and date, no mention of work or cost ?
If you have names though you can start there, I traced a car back that had 6 owners...... I had a receipt with a name on and from an Indy, they told me the guys occupation, business address and told me where he lived. I played it safe and rang him at work, his secretary took all my details and I said under no uncertain terms should he ring if he didn’t want to or felt agrieved, he was a solicitor 😬
Half an hour later he rang me back wanting to know how much it was and where it was for sale, his words were the best car he’s ever had, the six owners were all him ! Business 1st owner transferred into his name after a short period then transferred into Another business for 3rd owner then his name again for the 4th owner then a divorce so he put the car in another name then back into a females name ! And so it went, quite an achievement even for a solicitor ? But the b
d made me pay more than I had intended to ! That was in 2007 and I’ve still got it now ! Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
