My wife currently drives a Jaaaaag E Pace, which she likes very much. At the end of the lease I am tempted to buy a Macan S (petrol version) and ditch the 'smoker' E Pace. I can't afford the latest Porsche models but since she is very keen on having remote start (for those cold winter mornings) I was wondering whether it is possible to get remote start as a retro fit on, say, a 2015 Macan? It is available on new Cayenne models I think.

Thanks for advice.

Do you mean the Pre-Heater?
Had it on a Cayenne and a nice feature on cold mornings.
Not sure if it’s an option on the Macans, but the Macan SD I had warmed up fast and the heated seats and steering wheel did a lovely job in winter.

Thanks Koln. Yep, that sounds like the thing. I shall have to contact Porsche to see if there is a retro-fit option.

I think the Porsche ones are made by Eperspacher.
I think retro-fit, using Porsche parts (to protect the Warranty), could be vary expensive.
Also, not sure, but thought the fuel supply was Diesel, so may not work with a petrol engine.
Might be wrong.

This is the very definition of a first world problem

Actually, it’s not.
Auxiliary heaters are widely used on many ‘working’ vehicles, especially in cold climates.
On a luxury car, it can be a nice option, normally operated by remote control, up to 30m away, or a timer.

I'm guessing OP means remote start , button on the fob which starts the vehicle but doesn't unlock the doors . Will run for 10 mins then shut down if you've not driven away by then .

Not been around for a while so hadn't caught up with this. Actually I meant a remote start app (used by Jaguar on one's mobile phone) that starts the car whilst you are still indoors. It is totally a first world problem, as are all questions on here about cars, expensive or otherwise.

Thanks for responses though!
