Porsche Track Precision app doesn't work
Discussion
Porsche Track Precision app
I'm having trouble using the Track Precision app. I downloaded it and went through the steps to connect it to my car and all worked fine, I tried it out on pretend track that I created and data and video recorded successfully.
But when I try to use it again, it's not connected even though my phone says it has connected to the cars wifi, the app does not connect and is useless. I've tried deactivating the cars wifi and reactivating, and of course turning phone off and on and car off and on - nothing.
Any clues?

Some say switch off mobile data and other streams that might interfere with it. Another idea is to set iPhone onto Airplane Mode. I have tried different combinations and sometimes it works and when I really want to use it it doesn’t.

Ultimately is garbage, particularly the current version.
As Ralph says, when you really want it to work it doesn’t.
Really you’re better of buying a vbox sport or Vbox video logger or a race navigator and be done with it. Those devices always work, often you don’t even have to touch or start the recording yourself. And then you can always get most of, if not all of your money back by selling it on when your done, as long as it’s in good condition and working order.
All in all, I wish I had just done that from the start. Even go pro’s cock up

I don't think there is a perfect product.
Porsche Precision gets lots of data from the Canbus so analysis using Circuit Tools is great
Harry's can use OBD port but this data set is limited, can link with GoPro
Race Navigator good video but no Canbus data
VBox really easy to use, see data with quasi HD video but no Canbus unless you splice into or use a sniffer to get a limited data set from CanBus
I'd rather have rich data than great video which is why I find the Porsche product to be so incredibly frustrating.
