Hi,

I'm planning on going to Millbrook with respected ARDS A grade instructor. I'm wondering would I need track-day insurance? It bumps up the cost significantly.

Thanks
Hayden

no

I would hope the training instructor will keep you within your skill set.
that's the point of an instructor.

Have you asked the advice of all the venues you are attending? Surely that would be the first point of contact for advise?

Does the instructor have the initials NA ? If it is I think he’s great ! I don’t think you need it to be honest but it’s a question of if it would be on your mind...then I would take it as there is no point doing a day like this if you’re worried about the car. You’ll be pushing yourself a lot harder than the car I am guessing.

Trying to get quotes is a nightmare for a track day. Would be far better if you could buy it on the day at the track.

It is Nick Arnold from Porsche Club article https://www.porscheclubgb.com/news-and-events/news... He know he's stuff and he has good people skills...To be honest I'm not to worried about the car but you never know when someone else is going to do something stupid. I was thinking of doing 1/2 on the road then a day at Millbrook. Then next year when they start doing the trackdays with novice sessions at Snetterton/Brands Hatch, I look at doing a couple of those. What I found out on recent trackday at Porsche Experience Centre is that I don't really know the racing line, when and how hard to brake, when to start going on the gas again, what speed I should be doing at what point on track. I think for that kind of stuff you need the instructor in the car with you rather than in a car in front of you. In other words I need spoon-feeding. Forza gives you the racing line and it goes orange to red if you're going too fast and green if your at the right speed a HUD display like that would be brilliant...

Nick’s great. Have a day with him next week. Haven’t done Milbrook with him yet but hopefully in October, have been there with another company though.

Are you off to a trackday or doing road? I have thought about doing 1/2 day on the road with him. I'm thinking of doing all the track stuff next year, I want to keep it regular when I start rather than stop-start...

Next week I am actually doing a Precision Day at the PEC with him....so in theory the morning on the PEC facilities followed by the afternoon on the main circuit. Hoping to do Millbrook with him next month which will be a half day of track followed by a half day of road driving.

I’ve previously done Bruntingthorpe a couple of times with him but that’s no longer available as it’s been sold.

I was going to do some track days with him this year but my understanding is/was that instructors weren’t allowed.
