New Porsche - no garage, tips?
Discussion
Hi, I am thinking to buying my first ever brand new 718 Boxster GTS 4.0
What’s a major concern is that I don’t have a garage, so the car is going to be in the residential car park in front of my windows. Some cats are also known to taking a nap on my old boxster soft roof in the past.
So will I be allright with just covering the car (when it’s not wet)? Any recommendations how to keep the paintwork and soft roof in top condition without wasting time and in the absence of a garage? What about washing - is a pressure washer a no no?
Any tips appreciated, thanks

It's a car at the end of the day albeit a great one - some swear by having your car detailed and treated with ceramic coatings. EG: https://www.feynlab.com/contact/about/
If you think you want a cover for it I'd recommend a contactless one, have had bad experiences with conventional covers many times, they always end up rubbing/causing more damage than just having no cover at all.

Can't comment on the soft top as mine is a 718 Cayman, but it still lives outside even though I have an empty garage - having the car outside means I just jump in a drive it.
I wash it from time to time (every few months - more in winter) using the two bucket method and Autoglym bodywork shampoo. I clean the windows more frequently and wipe/rinse away any bird s
t as and when. For the wheels I use Autoglymn clean wheels (just a little, don't leave it on too long and avoid the brake calipers else they'll fade). I dry the car and take it for another drive to dry out the brakes.
That's it. Mind you, GT Silver metallic is easy to look after.
