pcm 3.1 update to version 4.76

Is it possible to update my pcm 3.1 from version 3.43 to version 4.76?

I ask because i have just had a guy try to install a reverse camera and he informs me that for it work my pcm must have software version 4.x

Or does anybody know of a way around it?

I seem to have v4.76 following OPC's 111-point check prior to warranty renewal. So that may be an option.

Were you on 3.43 before the 111 check?
That’ll be a cheap upgrade I think if that was the case

To be honest I've no idea what version I was on prior to 111-point check but car is 2015 so presumably older version. Only thing that could have been responsible for update is that I have aftermarket apple carplay installed, NM Automotive product, but I wasn't aware that they had updated PCM firmware but it's possible.

I know the Porsche dealer did something with PCM as the invoice said something like "clear PCM memory" whatever that means. You could always check with dealer.

You can't update a v3.xx system to 4.xx. There are hardware differences, which is why the reversing camera can't be retrofitted.
