Changing 981 rear discs and that pesky electric handbrake...
Discussion
I need to fit new discs to the rear of my 981.
My OPC says I will need a computer to unwind the electric parking brake shoes, which is expected, however, a friend recently changed the rear discs on a 958 Cayenne and this wasn't the case.
He said there was a manual adjustment mechanism for the electric handbrake, which allows you to back the handbrake shoes off manually.
Does anyone know if there is a similar mechanism on the 981?

Hi yes there is the adjust, but its that part that needs calibrating afterwards.
Try and remove discs without backing of
adjuster, and leave it alone, otherwise you might have warning light issues.
If u do it the Porsche way,u have to use diagnostic to carry out a grind in procedure on the road.

Thanks for the input, Chris.
I was actually thinking if I release the handbrake, then surely the discs will come off without issue?
To complicate things, my OPC says my handbrake shoes are worn and need replacing so I was thinking of fitting some new shoes at the same time, but what's the grind in the procedure you mention?
