Keep reading that the Taycan gives 280 miles per full charge but in real life you will achieve 240/250 miles per charge.
I have a Turbo S and obtain nothing like this. On the Porsche app it shows me having 187 miles of range on a 100% charge.
They also say to only charge to 85% !!
I am driving it like a granny !! Max half throttle and still I only get 40.6kwh per 100 miles. That is with pre heating whilst on charge too.
I know somebody who has a 4S and there’s is showing 205miles at full charge. Slightly better but still nowhere near 240-280 miles range.

What is everybody else’s experience ?
220-240 range is ok - 180 range is pathetic and if you drove it like a 911 you wouldn’t get more than 140 !!

Check out Harry Metcalfe’s video on the Taycan. “Harry’s Garage” It will confirm mileage is nothing like advertised.

I am guessing this is you recent experience in cold weather?

My 4s+ would do 300 miles in the summer but down to 230-240 in the winter. Temperature makes a huge impact on capacity, it’s a feature of EV’s.

Sounds about right for a turbo S in winter....

Our Taycan 4S with Performance battery + and the all important 20'' rims shows 235 miles when battery is 100% charged. This is at current temps so good to know it goes up to 300 miles in the summer. Great car to drive.

I’ve never seen one display below 240 miles so far. Are you preconditioning the battery?

My 4S on full charge is circa 214. 85% runs out between 180/187. I am interested in the comment on preconditioning battery. Can you advise what this involves as I’m not sure if I’m doing it or not?

It seems that the expected range can be exceeded in good weather conditions.

Looking forward to finding out in March.

I think driving style and temperature have a lot to do with ultimate range.

You can have slow and warm plus long range, or you can have fast and cold with shorter range ...

The brake pedal is the real killer ... regeneration must waste 50% ... and tyre wear regenerates zero% ...

Watching this thread with interest, test drive booked early new year on a 4S+extended battery, thinking of swapping my 992.

Mine will need to do 235 miles reliably, with a bit to spare, otherwise hmmmm, starts to become a compromise on a Friday dash to Cornwall.

Took the 992 out to day, it is an absolute beast and I love it.

Saw a Taycan in Blackberry (anyone in Worcester?) which looked lovely, but my my, its a very big (low) car - looked good, but yeah, big footprint.

Why are you only charging to 85%?

I know he's a bit Marmite, but Shmee150 has a Turbo S and is doing some quite interesting videos on his You Tube channel about daily life with it. Worth a watch.

How anyone can bring themselves to watch a video titled this is beyond me.

Is it because you ‘bought’ it 30 seconds ago?!

Love how he is back peddling from his initial comments (presumably after pressure from somewhere). Ohh a 30-40 minute stop, that's how long it takes me in my petrol car too! Give me a break.

The 180 miles for 100% charge seems a bit low, but my Taycan (Turbo) has been very accurate on the in-car milage prediction so far. Most I did was 171 miles (http://bit.ly/3roRrRr) from about 86% charged (down to 2%) in the wet and cold. The quoted range is definitely for ideal conditions, planning some longer range trips in the summer.

Haven't tried it from 100% as I either didn't have time charging at home to get to that level, didn't want to wait for a public charger to top up the last 15%, or half the battery failed and it's gone back to Porsche.

Have to say I don’t watch hiss stuff but your comment peaked my interest. Watched this video https://youtu.be/Cia13QbRX4Y

That largely reflected my three day experience with a loan car...some proper range anxiety, used some chargers which were so slow they were virtually useless and surprise at how friggin expensive the Ionity chargers were. It would clearly be different if I had a charger at home but every now and again we end up doing journey’s at short notice which is where EV’s become a problem...as Shmee said you need to plan longer journey’s.

Ridiculous! I, for one, will not be Taycan for a ride. Maybe the Taycan 4G(ranted) model will be better.

I get 211 from my Turbo with 21” wheels during cold weather. Expecting that to improve to 240 in summer.

I did a 503 mile day to Cornwall in the Taycan with only 40 minutes of away from home charging which I thought impressive.

How did you do 500 miles with 40 mins of charging away from home ?!?! IIRC I got about 140 miles of range on half an hour on an Ionity charger
