Been out of the modern Porsche world for a while and looking to come back into a 991

Did the Uk ever get any viper green (or similar colour)green ones?

Just have a real hankering after a bright green one !!

991.2 RS was available in Lizard Green (lighter than Viper).... launch colour so there are are quite a few around...about £170k. A few earlier 991.1 RS’s were made as PTS cars a few of which were Viper or one of the other similar Green’s.

There were a few 991.2 GTS’s in PTS...my OPC ordered on in Gelb Grun (Yellow Green) as it’s demo. Nearly bought it...but didn’t as I was hopeful of getting a GT3. It’s been for sale a couple of times since. Manual, Buckets, PCCB’s etc. great spec. There’s an Oak Green 991.2 GTS around too so they are out there.

There's a pretty bright birch green one at Cambridge OPC if you haven't already seen it, it's a 4S.

I believe that there is a subtle difference between the green used on the 997 RS and Viper Green, which became the popular name for that colour. I cannot recall the name of the RS colour but I will check in the file for my car..it is something like GT green as ai recall. Viper green is a valid historical colour for sure.

Personally I prefer the lizard green from the 991.2RS

Standard green on my car

Lizard on the car of a friend

There is a very helpful site hosted by the Porsche club of America that lists every Porsche colour, and is searchable by model also.

The 997 RS colour is called GT/RS green.

Here is the site:

Yeah that’s a great site. Always daydreaming about repainting my 996 even though Guards Red looks great biggrin

A previous 991.2 Turbo S in the aforementioned Gelbgrun. For me, the coolest colour I’ve ever seen.
With Riviera a close 2nd

It’s a great car....just glad I resisted temptation as they wanted £120k when I was looking at it. Great spec car. Last for sale for about £80k IIRC. Funnily enough the Mint Green 991.1 GTS is an ex OPC Silverstone car too...the ex General Sales Manager used to spec some great showroom cars/demonstrators.

Perhaps just buy the car you want and then one of the top places to wrap it for you in the colour of choice?

Just 1½% of all Porsches for sale in the PH Classifieds are green, which obviously includes shades of green or models which don't appeal to you. If a quick scan of those 37 cars is not fruitful, then a wrap may be a good option.

NB other car sales websites are available.
