Hello,

I like the style of wheels in this advert:

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10986360

Does anyone know if they have a name or style code? I only ask so that should I have a 996 at some point in my life, I can have an easier time seeking them out. Was it possible to get 16 inch wheels on a factory 996? I feel like I’ve seen some, but may be mistaken.

Thank you for lending me some of your beards.

Here is your bible - they are lightweight '10-spokes' - imaginative name if Porsche named them as such

Thanks as always to Florian Seibold for collating this info.

That’s splendid, thank you very much!

Looks like I might have to look for a car fitted with them, as the name isn’t going to make them terribly easy to find for sale online. I think a bit more sidewall suits an early 996 C2 rather well, but that might just be me.

Cheers.

I like the 18" Carrera wheel on the narrow bodied 996.

They are known as '17" Carrera II' wheels; a Google search shows these available:

No affiliation; just the first hit from a search.....

Factory standard wheels on 996 were 17" with optional upgrade to spec 18". Most 996's sport 18's.
You should have a 996 at some point in your life. They are a great car. My first 911 was a 996 Carrera 2 I ran for 5 years. Then upgraded to a 996 Turbo I ran for 8 years. Now in a 991.2 GTS Carrera 2.
911's are an addiction!

Thanks again for the replies, that’s great. I’m inching closer to my ideal 996 specification. That’s the easy part - having the spare money to buy one should probably be the priority!
