New Porsche Sat Nav Update
Discussion
Hello All,
Does anyone know if Porsche has released an updated version on their Sat Nav software? I have 2014 Porsche Panamera and I believe it has the most recent version of the software but I have been informed a newer version has just been released.
Do I need to take the car into Porsche to have this update installed or is it performed by DVD? If it is by DVD can does anyone have a copy I could borrow and return?
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, in advanxe,
Simon

I have a 2013 Cayenne and have never got on with the Navigation. Part of the reason being that in my country you have to pay for traffic. But, it seems that even when I did it made the NAV aware of traffic but did not make an attempt to drive around it.
The solution I took was adding wireless car play. It does require adding a board to the OEM unit but allows everything to continue functioning on the OEM system and a double click on the NAV button takes you over to CarPlay. The most surprising part of it is the quality of the image from the original unit. I was almost annoyed they did not take full advantage of what the screen was capable of.
Difficulty of the upgrade is in line with building your own PC. For many, the hardest part is taking the air vent out. Watch the youtube video and it is easy.
This is the one I bought. I got it for a little over $300 though. JoyAuto appears to be the brand.
Not affiliated etc, I do tell people often though because it has transformed my car experience and has meant my old Cayenne has stayed around for years after I would otherwise have sold it.

Just a thought.... spend the money on carplay integration and use Waze / google maps etc?
Something like this....

I havent fitted that model, but fitted something similar to a 2014 Range Rover Sport. Its not perfect, but works fine.
There are now wireless carplay options too.
