Anyone got issues with google maps no longer working in PCM? When you go to the map screen it says google maps loading and just remains like that forever.

My subscriptions are all up to date - everything else works - petrol prices, news, weather, twitter (!!!) etc.

my car is going for a service next week - when I booked it in I mentioned it and the service advisor said Porsche had a problem with the backend software and it would be resolved.

Google tells me that there is a potential license with Google that Porsche haven't renewed? - anyone know anything?

There are bigger problems in the world and I can use CarPlay but that doesn't give me the satellite map in the gauge cluster which I quite like.

Car is a 2017 718 Cayman.

I believe it may have something to do with hardware supporting the google earth maps, as I note that certain Audi models google maps stopped working from the beginning of Jan. Google Earth has stopped working in my RS5, even though my subscription for connect is still active.

Stopped working in Audis too - something to do with a licence deal (or lack or it) with Google. Audi offered me a free software upgrade to another service (which looks just like GE but has different brand on it). All working again now.

If you have PCM 4.0 the latest 2020 maps have been released this week - combined with the latest system software (1394) Satellite Maps provided by Google (inc Google online search) work again. I think the issue will be as a result of the early SW; 1119.

Just did a Macan today; all working.

Thanks for the update. This has been annoying me more than it should as I only bought the plan for Google Earth.

Just tried but still no joy. For info 2017 Cayman.

The SW update is via SD card at a centre. Takes around an hour to do both that and the Nav update. If you have Warranty the update will be covered; you may be charged for the Nav part - which is labour only.

I contacted Porsche Cars before Christmas who advised Porsche Germany were sorting a software fix. This is due end jan/early feb and will need to be uploaded at a dealership.

Currently I’m awaiting further notification, although my local dealership have been contacted by Porsche HQ informing that they will need to sort my car when software update is released.

SD card has been delivered to centres now; hence the Macan fixed above. Might be tricky to get a car in at present with the current situation.

Hi, do you know any dealerships that have the SD card update available now? Mine are saying they don't have it and don't know when it will be available.

Reading definitely - I have used it daily for the last week.

Was auto issued to Centres; they should all have it.

I had my Panamera in for a couple of bits this week (South London) and they said they didn't have the SW or any date when it would arrive.

Seems like comms is not working as well as it should.

Just for info. Car booked in to Chester OPC for update on Thursday. They said some update fine but some take ages so leave there for the day. All FOC.

Mine was updated on my 2018 911TS just over a week ago. Car was in for a day and it took about 2.5 hours.

FOC and all fixed and working properly again including updating map online.

I’d had issues with the car since I bought it in September and all working well now so definitely worth pursuing with your local OPC.

I spoke to Porsche connect about this - they this week told me to book it in for an update at an OPC referring to Technical Information (9941 (04/21)).

I haven’t booked the car in yet - went out in it tonight - and it’s back working………..strange coincidence??
