Tequipment Vehicle Key Painted

hen you say they chip very, very easily, is that just through inserting the key in the ignition or is it from accidentally dropping your keys.
Both! Also from rattling against other things in your pocket, dropping onto tables etc.The cheap one I had actually seemed more chip resistant than the genuine Porsche one...

Why don’t you send it to Topaz and have PPF applied?
Daft as that sounds on paper.. I was watching a YouTube detailing vid recently going over some of the PPF film, I think it's the 'Xpel' brand which seems quite popular, and they do lots of mini kits for wrapping everything - touchscreen displays, piano black dashboard panels.. Then obviously there's phone screen kits etc so I imagine you could get a small kit and wrap the painted key..
Bit of a faff maybe but if you've paid ~£75 to have it painted I guess it makes sense to protect it..
I bought a couple off amazon 5 years ago because the original key was starting to look tatty. 5 years latter and the only thing looking new is the cheap plastic covers. I had to replace the button cover as well as that wore out. The cheap amazon replacement has stood the test of time as well.

Yes, I bought exactly the same ones off Amazon, and I bought two. My car came with the original Porsche painted ones, that were badly chipped on the main key. My car is yellow, and the key covers from Amazon are just a slightly different shade, but hardly noticeable. Mine are still like new after four years, unlike the original Porsche option! They fit perfectly too!stubbsy996 said:
Many thanks for the link and also to everyone for their input. I think I will go with the ebay one although I think the colour is going to be way off. Twinfan's suggestion of a contrasting colour is a good call, however I have the crayon interior GTS pack so white seems to be the closest. I don't want a carbon finish as I prefer some colour on the key.
