I've searched and there are lots of posts about it on here, but many are 10+ years old, and in any case most often the answer seems to be "it depends", i.e. it's up to OPC to decide whether the car's been "abused" or not. Then the question is whether track use constitutes abuse.

(1) is the above still the case? I.e. it's a bit of a grey area?
(2) is it model-dependent? I'm thinking of occassionally tracking my brand new 718 GTS, a lot of the posts are about track-focussed GT4/GT3 cars
(3) does the OPC have to know I've tracked the car? wink

I think will depend what you're claiming for. A new engine or gearbox that's gone pop? They'll look at overrevs to see if you caused it. A PASM control unit? Component fault and would be covered. It's not a binary situation, it's going to be case dependent.

Having said that, it may well depend on the warranty wording. Is it in the owners manual or other paperwork that came with the car?

The car isn't here yet - expected delivery April.
I would have thought though all Porsche new warranties are worded the same??

The only thing they will be concerned about are any modifications from standard you make and potentially any resulting failures and and over revs that the car registers.

Maybe not, I don't know what Cayenne and Macan warranties say about off-road use. You'll need someone with a GTS to check their paperwork for you.

You will be fine on track with it and P warranty, unless your racing in an event, time trial or any other form of organised race events.
