86 944 dead gearbox

can anyone recomend someone to supply a recon gearbox for 86 standard 2.5 manual 944, mine has just died

Try www.porsch-apart.co.uk/parts.cfm, they quite often get 944 'boxes in. Also, you can sometimes pick-up a 2.5 944 on ebay for less than £500 (about what you'll pay for a secondhand 'box), you might get lucky and get a half-decent 'box with a load of other spares thrown in for free!
