Hi,
They say there’s no such thing as a dumb question but this might be the exception. I have a boxster 981 which is a tight fit for my garage and I am now thinking of a 991 but will it fit in my garage?
I see a lot of comments on line that the boxster is a small compact car but the 991 is big and bloated which is what prompts my question. On paper they look similar as the dimensions I can find are:

981
Length 4374mm
Width 1801mm

991
Length 4499mm
Width 1808mm

125mm in length and 7mm in width would be ok-ish but are they really that close in size?

I’ve had / got both and was worried about getting the 991.2 in the garage in place of my 981 GT4. The width between the wing mirrors is identical and the 911 is about 10cm’s longer. The ‘hips’ of the 911 are about the same as wing mirrors.

The physical size is amazingly close.

But in terms of handling the Rear Wheel Steering on the 991 is an amazing feeling ... at speed even when not travelling fast enough to overseer you really feel the need to open the steering lock early.

No wonder they are fast on drivers roads ...

The 981 by comparison feels that the 964RS of the range ... a real go-kart ...
