Must say it was rather exciting... for a £4k car :)

Really do need stiffer shocks and springs though.

I must say - your £4K 911 looks absolutely brilliant.

Was it restored at some point?

Super car to run around in.

Was a bit of a gamble in that it had no MOT, tax or recent service, but was purchased from a trusted mate who had it as a dust gathering shape and just wanted it to go (ie. didn't want to have strangers come round / not come round / kick tyres, etc...). The deal was "if the wheels drop off at the end of the road, then 'sorry' - it is what it is". I was prepared to go along with that... and the MOT & service showed it was a nice car.

Probably need to spend a few thousand on bits of rust and sprucing the interior, but worth doing. Mechanically it drives fine.

Excelent pictures Ben. Looks like you had a fun time.

I take it you liked the Cabriolet Turbo...?

£4K !!! Amazing. Excellent pics too.

I'd love to pluck up the courage to go to the 'ring'. having watched top gear I'd be in two minds as to taking the turbo or the van?

Don't go.

Its a sh*t place full of people who see Clarkson go round it in 9.59 (I doubt he did) and turn up to have a go "to see what time they can get"

... just like the 2 chaps in a Civic Type R who, on their 2nd lap ever bounced it off the armco and then flicked it over the top. Or the poor guys in a Cossie who got spat out by the karrussel, over the armco.

If you turn up, go slowly, enjoy. Only enjoying yourself, being safe and being able to drive your car in one piece home matter - don't ever ask "what time did you get" because that doesn't matter. If it does to you.. lie - it's safer!

Excellent - loved the photos. It looks like the time was fairly evenly split between drinking and driving, the way it should be!

I have not ventured there yet in my 911 but feel a growing need to do so before it gets shut to the public by some nannying nits. Your comments on taking it easy are thus noted...
