Noticed more recently that on cold start up, the GT3 rattles away for a second or so with the oil light on, which then drops off immediately and engine runs smoothly. Once warm, engine engages immediately.

Oil level/pressure fine.

Anything I should be concerned about and reference in its forthcoming service?

Is the GT3 engine using hydraulic tappets? If so then during the time it takes to pump these up with oil pressure, the engine will sound rattly.

Certainly worth mentioning at service time I'd say, if you're finding it more and more noticeable. However, the solution if the tappets were a problem would be expensive.....

Dont worry about it. It is the standard GT3 Death rattle caused by oil draining back from the heads and making the timing chain rattle.

Usually happens after the car has been left to stand for a few days, they all do it nothing to worry about.

If you want to stop it happening, flick the key a few times so the engine turns over but doesnt start. Then go to start the car as normal, it will crank over for a few seconds before firing and bring the oil pressure up. Presto! No rattle!.
