I think I want a Taycan turbo
Discussion
..But most reviews says buy the 4s
I can only compare it to the Tesla model 3 performance which acceleration just made me giggle - don’t see the point unless it’s the same.
Will sell my c63 for this, the engine noise is good but seems too “forced” and just can’t compare to my old 6.2. Time to move on I guess
Does the acceleration get old after a while? After the m3p test drive I was glad to get out of the car as felt too nauseas driving it though I still think I’ll regret not having the option to make myself feel sick once in a while.

Not a straightforward question to answer. Most passengers will giggle if you launch a 4S, but if money’s no object then get the Turbo and be done with it.
My observations are that you can keep up with a turbo on twisty roads in a 4S, so if your budget is in between then it’s better to spec well and consider some of the chassis upgrades.
The Taycan has air suspension so the ride at normal speeds is less nauseating than the Tesla. Having said that, if you let loose you’ll have no problem turning people green!

I've gone 4S with HUD, PTV and RWS (and that sexy passenger side Star Wars screen). Didn't spec the active roll bars as well it just doesn't roll as-is and the cost options just mount up so much. The ride on 21" Turbo (no active ARB) was good but I expect this to be better still on 20".
Test drove a 4S and then bought the Turbo which I’ve done about 1000 miles in since. Objectively I have to say the commentary about the 4S being the one to have is absolutely right. As fast as you would ever want and little difference to the Turbo in my opinion. But a Turbo’s a Turbo.
The launch control is interesting for about one day in my experience. But it is amazing. What is constant is the overtaking ability on country A roads which is absolutely staggering. Depends where you live if that’s relevant.
What it is is a supremely fast, comfortable and well put together daily driver.
Range: I charge the battery to 85% and get a real 185 miles every time with absolutely no attempt to preserve power whatsoever. So feels like 230 miles on max charge which I would feel very confident in. As I said that’s driving it properly not on ‘range’ mode.
I have to say I absolutely love it.

Really good to hear! I doubt I'll ever even try the launch control - never did in my Macan - well its me paying for the clutches!!! Welsh A and B road nipping past white plastic things is where its at for me :-) The launch control is interesting for about one day in my experience. But it is amazing. I found I was getting 3.5kw mile on my enthusiastic test drive so range looks decently over 200. Superb to hear that using the performance doesn't massacre the range. Was a big concern. Does 'range' mode give you over 260 I wonder?

Depends upon the spec you want too, if you want a few options you'll find it quickly approaches the cost of the turbo.
Some of that is Porsche shenanigans and smoke and mirrors mate. Its a task to compare but I think the below is right:Like for like spec Turbo Turismo was £126,546.00 with 9k of options but included std 20" (£1700 on 4S) Bose (£1k on 4S) and extended leather (£2500 ish on 4S) and a matching spec in 4S was £104 inc £14k extras. I see that the extended leather was the ONLY difference as being included in Turbo on my config (I didn't have this on my 4S).
I don't think there is any added options value other than the extended leather and in the extra performance which totals £22k... I could be wrong as I don't have my Excel out but that's what it looks like!

About to pull the trigger on a turbo. Again, can only compare the performance to a m3p and even though I was sick of the brutal acceleration after a 1 hour test drive, couple days later I just can’t get that rush out of my head - even though it made me feel sick for the rest of the evening.
