Does anyone know their way around a PIWIS?

Have a piwis2, trying to re-code my PSM from 987 Boxster base to 997 GT3/GT3RS because I have an issue with my ABS kicking in too early (using a GT3 master cylinder and larger brakes). I go through the process to re-code it and it seems to write the data but then says unsuccessful. I've also tried to change the vin number on the ABS unit to a GT3 one and then try and re-code, it still doesn't work. It gives no information as to why it's unsuccessful.

PIWIS is a new system to me so maybe I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone successfully re-coded their ABS?

I fitted larger master cylinder, callipers and disks to a 981 Cayman S and did not suffer any ABS behaviour change so maybe another cause, although appreciate the before and after change you report.

I have PIWIS 3 but applying coding changes is rather hit and miss, more frequently the latter! I believe the licenses have changed with development version capability which facilitated coding being discontinued.
