Hi,

I have a Cayman S 987.2, I'm adding the larger plenum and gt3 throttle body, though i need to get it mapped, so I'm looking for recommendations for either a rolling road or known map/mapping software that is known to work?

Based around Cheshire/Staffs/Derbs. Though can travel for whilst-u-wait service!

Thanks.

No first hand experience but https://chipwizards.co.uk/ seems to be the standard answer to this question whenever I've seen it asked across the Porsche forums. I seem to remember reading though, that the Porsche ECU of that vintage are pretty clever re. adjusting to breathing mods etc.

I've yet to drive a 997/987 that has not had its throttle response and mid range torque ruined by this mod.

Thanks Robo...

IMI A, there seems to be a few that have done it, can you expand on what ruins the drive please?
I'm a little bit dubious of buying the kit unless i can rolling road tune it to make a difference.

the cooking 987/997 ECU can not understand the GT3 throttle body. I find at low speeds it either gives me too much or too little throttle. Partial throttle not precise too. I reckon it robbed me of circa 35hp/ft lbs through mid range too. Unless you can find someone who can tune for the new GT3 parts like a factory Porsche tuner I'd suggest you swerve.

Thanks very much, I appreciate your comments.
For the time being I'll do just that, and indeed swerve.
I know I'm going about it wrong anyway, I need to have a good look at the suspension before adding more power... Des911 had an offer on and I thought I'd take advantage, but better to not waste money... than save money (if that makes sense).

I'd be touching exhaust headers before the inlet side myself

@Andyoz
I'm happy to be schooled...
I really don't want it to be much louder than standard, I also have an RS4 and everbody asks if it has the 'milltek'...GOD NO !

Good race catted headers are the way to go....and I mean good as some are pretty average IMO
As you don't like noise best to avoid the catless ones.
Softronic tune and she'll be ripping along..
Leave the inlet side alone...that engine ingests plenty or air as is.. Maybe a BCM filter.
