Help!

My 993tt is running the standard rear tyre sizes - 285/30R18

I want to up the rolling radius slightly, so am torn between going to 295/30R18 (as per 996tt) or the 993 GT2 size which i believe is 285/35R18.

Only problem is, i can't find N rated 285/35's - can anyone help?

VS.

err, this will alter the torque to the front wheels, i think you will get less than the 5% built in from rolling radius alone, is this what you are trying to achieve?

dont worry about the n rating,my car was supplied new from the factory with non n rating tyres 285/35/18.As long as they are top quality tyres.
Probably porsche could not get them at the time, this was on a 993gt2.

Just a thought...But a few yrs ago I had a relatively large accident on the rd. This resulted in my taking legal advice from a solicitor over a course of time.

The guy had helped a lot of Porsche drivers and considered it one of his specialist subjects within his overall expertise of road accidents...Anyways he reiterated to me of the importance of using 'N' rated tyres and mentioned that in certain unique circumstances not having them fitted on a car has helped insurance companies negate/reduce payout in the event of a claim.

Hope that helps with any decision!

Cheers

285/35 should be readily available off the shelf in N rating. I can certainly get hold of them at my local retailer.

Pete, i'd stick with standard sizes personally, unless you are going to track the car.
