A lady on the Porsche Facebook group bought a garage at auction, only to discover a low mile 1981 SC tucked up in it.

She can’t get any help from the DVLA or police who the owner is, now has the V5 in her name.

Hi. Does anyone recognise this plate number and know owner of car?
I found this car abandoned in one of the garages I bought recently and would like that owner remove it or I will sale.
Thanks in advance

Nice plate despite the iffy 'E'.

Worth the expense of getting the car through its MOT....surely the car and numberplate value will be greater.

Don’t think so, the lady has a long established Facebook account and kept up with the post, answering questions.

The newspaper has Klopp on the front cover, and some bright spark suggests the headline is post 2016/2017 - so the car probably only been in the garage 4 or 5 years, there is also a ‘67 VW battle in there.

She has contacted reading Porsche, DVLA and the police and none will help her with previous owner details.

Errr.... in that case.. I've just remembered that they're both mine. Tell her she can PM me and I'll have my man pop up and collect both of them within 24hrs.

Don't V5s have the previous owner's details on?

The V5 also doesn't denote ownership of a car AFAIK...with someone with concrete details of the car on here being found 6wks after the original post, I wonder how you get on if you've sold it.

Fortunately the car hasnt been sold yet !

I hve left messages for some of the family today and even if the guy who owns it has now since passed (dont think he has) it he is survived by a wife and daughter so hopefully we will get the right outcombe.

Have also been intouch with teh people who have the garages.

If you buy a garage, do you own what’s in it?

Can you shed some more light on this interesting sounding story please?

Otherwise I’m going to have to fill in the gaps myself. Probably something along the lines of infamous career criminal that’s done a runner or been locked up…. hehe

IANAL but depends upon the terms of the sale I reckon.

By default, doubtful. You'd be buying it with vacant possession. That means the seller would be liable to remove anything within it, be that rubbish or a valuable Porsche.

But if the garage was sold "as seen" or "with any contents" I would have thought a claim could be made for ownership. I'd fully expect the owner or heir to put up a fight, though, if they'd accidentally left a Porsche in there and later realised.

Ha Ha !!

I havent got to the bottom of it myself yet but will be more than happy to post the outcombe assuming the owner or the family are happy to do so.

I knew the guy for the first 20 years of my life (no relation!!) and he and family were a great bunch and very kind to me. Feel like I need to do the right thing on this whatever the situation ... even if he was locked up or worse !!
