Porsche Classic CM 987/997

Remember reading on a few forums not too long ago that PCCM will be released this year, for the 987/997, similar to the system launched for the 986/996.

Anyone have any information on when it might come out this year? Hoping it’s before July so i can have it installed before a eurotrip

I hope you’re right. I’d love to upgrade the system in my 997.2. I keep looking but haven’t heard anything yet.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that it's only a 997.1 system is being released initially with a 997.2 system to follow later. Not sure if that's just a colour scheme or whether there'll be compatibility issues as 7.1 and 7.2 cars run different models of PCM.

Yes, you’re probably right. Different PCMs. I have a 987.1 Boxster so I’d definitely be changing the system in that. The thought of Apple CarPlay would be great. I’ll need to wait longer for the 997.2 I guess.

This is a good option to add carplay to the 997.2 https://www.nmautomotive.co.uk/carplay-androidauto you need the aux inputs (normally under the arm rest) for it to work. It works very well and has wireless carplay too.

I contacted Porsche about a month ago and was told the 987.1 / 997.1 system is due for release in 2023

yep only the 987.1 and 997.1 are being supported initially - the silver ones....for 2023. The CDR and PCM 3.0 is probably 2025 at this rate.
