Hi a friend of mine is interested in a 1992 964 Targa on E bay. What would be a good price to pay and what should he look for?

The car is here: [url]

How long's a piece of string?

Ok, the ad says the oil is gold (so brand new then) and there are no oil leaks (so the engine's been steam cleaned or the oil leaks have been fixed).

I've never heard of a 90k mile 964 with no oils leaks at all, they all have had some sort of oil leak by that mileage, even if it's only very slight.

So if the oil leaks have been fixed, what else was done at the same time, and who by?

In that service history is there evidence of a clutch change? If so, did they also replace the dual mass flywheel?

It's worth a bit more for being RHD, but a bit less for being a Targa. Assuming it really is perfect (needs absolutely nothing) i'd have to say in the mid teens (£15k/£16k)?

IMO that's the least desirable 964 combination white, 4wd Targa with aircon. I say this owning a 964 targa myself.

A leak-free engine is nice, but this is small potatoes compared to a seriously worn engine.
