I have noticed by reading through some of the posts that many of you are track day junkies.Although i have done quite a few bike days at croft,i have never done it with a car.My question is what are the main differences?and does my car need anything else doing to it before i go onto the track, many thanks, Sim.

It doesn't hurt when you have a minor off. Go to Bedford and you can hoon until your heart's content.

hmmmm... it is possible to hit the barriers at bedford, although you do have to reach a certain level of muppetry to acheive this.

You don't have to be a muppet... A TVR was totalled on the main straight recently when it changed direction and ended up in the armco. Even more recently (Tuesday) a GT2 went backwards into the armco near the pit exit. Even at Bedford you still have to be careful.

The TVR had a mechanical failure from what I remember - made a nasty mess.
What happened to the GT2?

exactly!

you took me for a few laps in your car steve, made it look so easy and smooth i thought i could get in my car and do the same... clearly quite foolish for a whole variety of reasons, but i feel the blame lies squarely on you... don't worry about feeling too guilty though, i'll be passing all the invoices to my solicitor who will no doubt be in touch...

in all seriousness i think it was a very good thing it happened from a learning perspective. got away with too - could have been a great deal more damage, which is why i'm not fussed about it..

thanks for the ride again. it was awesome.

Tower is not an easy corner. You can get through it almost flat and without braking in the RS but you are on the edge of the edge. I don't think it's on in a GT2. The torque surge when your engine comes on boost would effect traction when the car is fully loaded just past the apex as you put the power down. Try taking in on a constant 3/4 throttle next time and wait till you almost straight before you accellerate..

Bad luck old boy, glad there is not much damage
