Taycan used pricing
Discussion
Depends on age and miles.
I bought my USED one just over 4 months ago - new list was £85k (RWD, big battery , other spec)
It is an April 2021 car (so at the time 10 months old) 14k miles, bought from OPC, with a brand new service, paint protection)
I paid £90k (£5k over list)
Now has 21k miles, I've been told the best I could sell for is a little under list.

Are you looking at the white one on AT for £99,900
I know this won’t help with you over list question but I’d suggest that particular car is very low spec, no pan roof, park assist, mobile connect charger, 4+1 seating, sports sound etc
It also. appears to be a poor colour combo, white, black plastic and grey flat wheels.

Prices will start to soften…there might be big order books but Porsche UK new car deliveries are back to pre pandemic levels. With a lot of the cars coming through being Taycan’s.
I can tell you now, as somebody with a new Porsche that was due to be build complete(CP8) on March 31st, but is now projected to be CP8 today, that your observation simply isn’t true. Porsche are working on a JIT basis across all their factories due to wiring loom and other component supply issues. Cars being built now are several months behind schedule and with the summer factory shutdown looming things will go further behind.

My local OPC is currently hiring extra sales people because of the increased volume of new cars they have been told to expect….

I know cars are behind schedule but SMMT data says Porsche deliveries to the UK are up 29% to 5354 cars in the first four months of the year. Which puts them on track for 16k cars this year which is where they were pre-pandemic. So cars are coming through.

All of which is irrelevant to the softening or otherwise of used values as it only shows one side of the equation. My local OPC is currently hiring extra sales people because of the increased volume of new cars they have been told to expect….
Put a deposit down on a Taycan today and you'll be lucky to get it in 12mth (customer favour to one side). I put an order in on a car early Feb. Initial view was it might be here just before Christmas. Now? No view...probably Q1 next year at best.

You need to be slightly careful… SMMT report registrations, not deliveries, and there can be funny games in the channel. VW report that Porsche global deliveries were down 8% yoy in the first four months, with April the clearly weakest month. I can’t see why Porsche would prioritise the U.K., over say the US, for the cars they can produce. My local OPC is currently hiring extra sales people because of the increased volume of new cars they have been told to expect….
So…. I am about to sell mine as I am moving overseas. I don’t want to sell it at all as it is utterly amazing and is the perfect car for my family and I, (and dogs).
It’s a 4S CT with 7k miles and about £30k in options. My dealer without seeing it, has already offered my money back. When I know my moving date I’ll press a little harder, but I am fairly sure I could ask for more and still sell it instantly.
Top spec Taycan are hot sellers and based on my (limited) experience, I don’t think this is going to change for a while yet.

I've listed mine at below list (one year old), it's about £8k cheaper than next cheapest big battery Tayacn on AT, online trade offers are £10k below list (don't take into account extras) - Let see what happens.

Link to Autocar article saying Porsche produced record numbers of cars in 2021 including for the 911 so it wasn’t all Taycan sales.
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/business-financ...
Flip side would be when Porsche produced record global volumes last year why did they throttle supply to the UK so much ? Read some of the stats in that article…record year for 911 etc. Certainly wasn’t in the UK for 911 sales. Mentions UK sales being 13,702 last year but what they don’t say is that is a significant reduction but Porsche GB wouldn’t want that highlighted.
What the numbers tell us is that in 2021 with Porsche producing record numbers of cars globally UK sales were down 25% so all those stories OPC’s have told customers about Covid related supply issues and chip shortages are some way short of the truth. For whatever reason Porsche throttled supply to the UK favouring other markets and this year they appear to be delivering more cars to the UK which may well be to make up for that.
Well my OPC has practically no cars to sell. Waiting times are huge and not going to change for at least 18 month. They are pushing through Taycans which is where the majority of sales are but the lead times are still enormous, but every other model is non existent at the moment. My Touring is delayed from June build until the end of the year, as are most builds.
Just about every model including the Taycan is sitting over list to answer the original question. My 992 is 18 months old and would still sell at list.
