Hi,

Anyone aware of any issues regarding the coolant system on an 05 GT3. Whilst out in the car earlier I went to give it a bit of the heavy right foot....revs rose to about 6K when a cloud of white smoke came out the back followed by the coolant warning light coming on.

Coolant had dropped about an inch below the min mark.

Had the car picked up last night so will be with OPC today. I tried filling the tank again and it held its level fine under "normal" driving....as soon as I opened her up the same happened. I'm guessing it's a hose or somthing like that as it's only happening under high pressure.

Doesn't sound good does it.. At least it should be a warranty job. Please let me know how you get on..my MY04 GT3 dropped a tiny amount of coolant the other day but hasn't done it since & I can't see where it came from!

Cheers

I had a 'similar' problem which turned out to be a valve near the gearbox which was leaking badly - sorted in a few hours under warranty.

Had this happen on mine.....local opc had overfilled it slightly and it had simply let a little out from the overfill pipe. Have heard a number of problems with MK1 GT3's and early 996's but those issues have supposedly been ironed out.....will let you know what the outcome is.

Lol - unless the aircon condensation is green and smells of coolant im sure this is coolant!

Actually I took it to Reading this morning and it needs two rubber pipes replacing.. unfortuntely I need to wait for them to arrive from Germany...
