Oil under front of 993
Discussion
I have a 1995 993 cab. Some part of the power steering is broken as every few weeks it makes an awful noise when cornering, once the oil is topped up at the back it is ok again. There is a small oil leak coming from the front of the car. The garage is saying this will cost around £1000 to replace the broken part. Does this sound about right or not really? Any advice is v welcome.

If ur rack is on the way out , either leaks gently from end of rubber gaiters of rack and /or goes all at once in which case steering feels very heavy ...........basically the seal/s at the end of the rack are leaking ...................if u fill it up will last a while but if it runs dry it ll be a pump as well ! Thats almost dry when u hear the grinding noise !!
