Used Porsche vs Mortgage
Discussion
Wondering what happens with the used prices, some are at least twice of what they should actually be in the best case scenario.
2020/8k Turbo S = £210,000????
2018/6k Targa 4 GTS = £109,000???
2013/36k 911 Carrera = £63,000?!?
2014/16k Targa 4s = £84,500?!?
Are they just putting random (very high) numbers next to those cars?

Used prices actually dropped last month abeit only 2%, considering as said increased by 25% plus pre covid.
The biggest spanner which no predicted is the war in Ukraine.
No one could ever predict the increase in household living costs.
Already seeing the house market slow down and cars staying on the forecourt longer.
In covid people were cash rich and readily spent it.
Next year is a worry , recession expected, high interest rates and energy costs spiralling out of control..
Jees im off to slash my wrists!

As others have said, high prices through Covid and limited new car supply, just go and look at the chat about 4.0 GTS boxsters/caymans, dealers are saying PLDS and other options won't be available and do people want to take the downgrade or cancel, these are for people with orders in from 2021. That will mean people buying what is available, so yes, I don't think a 2018 Targa GTS is 109k, but you can't get a new one and ones out there are advertised for 20k over list. 2020/8k Turbo S = £210,000????

I'm sure it will revert over time as supply comes back and the cost of living, recession etc kicks in...not sure anyone should wish for the latter...
On cars like 718 Spyder which are limited supply you are ready seeing reduced price’s in the height of summer although some dealers are still trying there luck, give it to autumn and although a limited supply of new cars I think the second hand is in for a correction.
Check out the new car section on autotrader how many new BMW/Mercs are available with discount!

im not so sure granted the future is going to be truly horrible but if you are in a position to go with numbers like you might be able to ride out whats coming & there arent new cars to buy , not just Porsche I understand that Ford have stopped building Fiesta's & Focus's because they are using parts to build SUVs which sell better Check out the new car section on autotrader how many new BMW/Mercs are available with discount!

Or maybe they have unsold fiesta (see autotrader again) and have decided to up suv production! The sale of new cars is softening and as we head in to autumn/winter the amount of unsold new cars will only increase, even Mini now have unsold cars with discount
