Headlight beam deflectors for EU

Am doing my first euro trip. Are those deflector things much of a muchness:

Surely either the 997 doesn’t need them or there is a lever that switches them over.

Once you get into the headlight it's pretty straightforward, though the box tool to free the headlight module to release it can make a sickening "crunch" sound almost as if you've broken something. It's also a faff to get the end of the box tool onto the right part, but once it's on, it becomes more obvious - should be detailed in the handbook, though they dont mention the crunch sound...

I take my 997 over to my house in France a couple of times a year and use similar to these. Work fine.
