Hi all
Back in a Porsche after a couple of years away from the brand. This time it’s with a TURBO. 👍

£30K will get one into a 996 Turbo. Not chump change, but in Porsche world its a pretty cheap model. Thats not to question their greatness, I am sure they are epic, but quite a cheap model in the great scheme of things.

Buying it is the cheap part of the equation Julian, the maintenance is another matter altogether ...

They are blessed with two of just about everything that’s expensive.

One of the greatest 911’s ever though. Still underrated.

Probably broken-down, or in a hedge.

Thanks for the comments, I should’ve clarified why this car was cheap. It’s been in a hedge :-).
So needs some genital love before I can enjoy her. I am so excited waiting for some nits to arrive in the post. So unfortunately I’m not driving the wheels off my new toy yet I’m afraid.
If I can work out how I’ll ping a pic of where we are now.

biggrin

That was my recollection as well.

Mind you, the bit where they do the Star Trek warp-speed thing when everything in front of you starts moving backwards very quickly was fun.

Sports seats look good. Mine had the standard seats which I found extremely comfortable on long trips, just not so good on track.

I had a work colleague who had one of these.
Spun off the road & it wrapped itself around a tree.
He had it repaired so no one would know.
I’m sure there are many “pristine” 996 turbos concealing more than a few secrets.
CarVerticle may not be perfect, but it’s a start.
