FHM needs a Porsche dragster

FHM magazine are doing a "my car can beat a Porsche" story at Santa Pod on Monday - I seriously think as a matter of pride we should put up a serious contender - anyone of you modified turbo guys up for it?

I'd do it myself, but I'm afraid my standard 996 C2 could be seriously embarrassed depending on what they're bringing. There's a cash incentive, but I'm not sure whether it would be enough for a new clutch or gearbox - and you are being set up to lose, but appearing in FHM might be cool

Probably designed so they get a really fast drag-car based on an old car to turn up and embarrass the Porsche owner - no thanks......

Santa pod + rain... they wont run..

The trouble is, there are a huge number of drag racing cars that will beat a porsche (any porsche) on the quarter mile, the majority of cars in our class are bodied cars and all run under 12.99 on the quarter..

Our car will beat a McLaren F1 up the quarter, but it's an £8k racer, built in a tractor shed.. it does exactly what it's designed to do and nothing else, it won't go around corners and it wont slow down very quickly either...

Unless FHM are trying to pull something that resembles a porsche and handles in the same way it won't be a fair fight...

BTW, theres a good few beetles that would kill a porsche up the 1320, that'd be interesting to see
