The teams are running 3 or 4 drivers. We have been in training for some months now, we have also done extensive night vision / orientation training at a secret location in Wales. Just as a last resort though we`ve packed a couple of outers of Red bull !
It has the potential to be a great outing for people, there was talk of a Porsche concours competition held during the event with a big cup for the winner. James Tucker (the event organiser) told me he had arranged it with the Porsche club but as yet I`ve seen nothing from the PCGB side.
There will be fantastic access to cars and drivers unlike say Le Mans where the sheer number of spectators necessitate you are kept well away. If any buxom wenches need their chests signing I will personally find a moment in my busty, sorry busy, schedule to administer the necessary ink for instance such is our commitment to spectator satisfaction.
So far we are the only team to have finished every Britcar event, we have a great team looking after the car and have been very careful in driver selection, all the guys are team players and nurse the car well. Burzel, another member of this forum is one of the drivers . He`s representing us in the fitness tests at the start of the weekend. Pete has entered the pie eating competition.
The new website lists all the teams entered etc and give up to the minute news of the event.

Hope to see some of you there.

JT is away this week. I e-mailed the request for the above to PCGB and they said that they'd contact James. He hadn't heard from the Porsche Club when I last spoke to him so it may not happen.
(Note of explanation : James Tucker is my brother in law)
It would have been nice to get all the owners clubs on board. Porsche, TVR, Marcos, Ferrari and BMW all have active supporters and their respective marques are all running in the event.
It certainly amazed me when James explained that the EERC get no return from the gate and Silverstone don`t want to promote the event. Talk about chicken and egg. The answer is for the promoter to keep gate money and so is encouraged to spend money promoting. After all Silverstne`s £120k isn`t a bad return for the weekend. Maybe there lies the problem.

I totally agree. The problem is two-fold. The lead times for the mags is quite long and eerc who are running the event have only just launched their 24hr website. It has all been a bit up in the air. Things needed formalising and sending to print months ago. In fairness this is the first event and I suspect a huge task with people putting spanners in the works all the way.
My advice is turn up to say you went to the first one. With a bit of luck it`ll take off and in a few years you won`t be able to move for people.
