The pressures of growing kids and needing a bigger car than my M2C has lead me in the direction of a Macan S from Porsche, I don't really want to part with the M2 but its come to that point now where the kids are 9 and 7 and its becoming hard work.

Thinking about going to have a look at a couple of Macan tomorrow, its been a few years since Ive bought a car and the car market appears to have changed a fair bit. Do OPC's ever move on Price or is it a case of that's the price now given the shortage of cars?

Thanks in advance.

no movement from OPC Reading today for me on one. They chucked in some Swisswax treatment and pots of wax with alleged rrp of £599

That said it has 2yrs 5mths warranty, and has just had discs and pads all round which must be £2k plus at retail prices, and a service, so tbh I felt their prep costs were quite sizeable whereas my running costs for next 2 years will be nil

Macan S ....bit like you...practical enough car for when I've got the kids, right kind of size for urban use, not a sports car but quite quick and makes a good noise. Reasonably luxurious

Had a Velar P380 before but Porsches are just so well engineered. The brakes comparison sums it up for me...beefy aluminium monoblocs on the Macan... horrible iron rusty basic looking things on a same age 380bhp Velar...braking from higher speeds never really inspired confidence

Discs and Pads all round? At what mileage?'

Sounds like you've come to a similar conclusion.

Been and done the Hot hatch thing, debated a fast estate but not a massive audi fan, may go and look M340i touring or C43/63 Other than that and the Macan I can't think what else fits the bill.

One of the Cars I was planning to look at is at Reading OPC, Wasn't the 2019 Night blue one they've got you bought was it?
