Is PIWIS III system available to enthusiasts?
I think it would be very useful to customise your one vehicle, especially if you intend to keep it ‘for ever’.
I use a POCOM scan tool and diagnostic software from Gendan in Swansea. It offers equivalent vehicle diagnostics and module programming as the PIWIS tool. I think it would be very useful to customise your one vehicle, especially if you intend to keep it ‘for ever’.

What is the most popular diagnostic system for a 992?
My car is now 3 years old, so I think it s time to poke around the settings.
I use a Launch X431 on the Caymans, I find it pretty good, probably not quite dealer level but used by a lot of mechanics. There are plenty of demonstration videos available for coding etc. My car is now 3 years old, so I think it s time to poke around the settings.
Take a look at rennlist. Quite a few there own PIWIS III so whilst expensive I don't that it is totally daft.
However it is very very complex and those that can use it in the main got there by long trial and error.
Unless you have a real passion for it you are likely to be better just paying someone. It is not - oh heard is a nice option let me tick it. But module are module grunt work much of which is reported to be in German. It is not for the faint of heart
