After tracking at SPA it was obvious that i could not easily get around in the standard seat. Too many right handers

I was wondering if anyone had the spec for a low cost proper bucket seat for the 996 with relatively staight forward mounts using standard pick up.

Only want to spend C£300 as i will be swapping it out after each track day..

Please don't laugh, i am skint after paying for this car and spending two days in Belgium.

Appreciate any help

No i hadn't it looks like a very clever idea, i have been browsing through Demon Tweeks catalogue and i recon i can get a three point harness in broviding i can find somewhere to hook up the single shoulder strap, somewhere where the back seat usually is, anyway still looking for options.

fitting another seat looks like pain or lots of cash

CG locks are pretty good.

I actually sell them if you want one cheap, and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The nice thing about a CGH lock is that if you don't like it, you simply get your money back!

I'm sure you can find a seat, but mounting a harness will be a pain as you'll need a rear cage or perhaps a harness bar if they make them for 911s? In fact It's probably not worth doing unless you do it properly which means spending lots and fitting the clubsport parts.

Thanks guys, i am feeling a little peeved that i did not get the other GT2 that had the clubsport package.

I think i will get the lap belt clamp until i figure out what to do long term...

The G forces feel stronger in this car and it was really hard work, i have not even got the proper tyres on yet.

Anyway order for clamp on its way

I thought gt2's only came with the gt3 type buckets. Seems kinds of strange in something as focused as a gt2 to supply it with slippy seats. May as well throw in a 300bhp downgrade too!

Its quite an attractive interia as it does not look like a race car but i think the seats have been heavily polished like a valet i had where they polished the pedals and steering wheel !!

I am also a little large and don't sit in the seat more like on it.

I am looking for the look of a road car with the performance of a race car,

If this clamp does the job i may leave it at that.

Unfortunately you can't really have your cake and eat it. Bucket seats and harnesses are so much superior, but they can be a drag on the road as you end up with a cage blocking up the back. Also not sure how comfy buckets are for the bigger boned

www.carnewal.com supplies all the bits if you want OEM Porsche stuff.

I've seen pucker leather gt3 buckets going for as little as £750 (pair) on ebay recently.

there's a pair in the classifieds for sale at the moment.

Where did you order your CG from incidentally? I could probably beat the price - I have about 50 in my top drawer!

cheers

Bruce, i followed Damian's link, stuck credit card in and hopefully be here for when i come back off holiday. its like £45 quid so worth a punt.

I have a competition car which is road legal, sign written "competition" interia etc but i feel self conscious driving it on the road which i have to occasionally, hence bucket seat and harness i would only put in the GT2 for the track day and then be straight out again. If the clamp lock is good enough to free my left leg up instead of me using it as a brace bar... i'm laughing.

even so i off to look at ebay...

no worries. I do 'em at £39 delivered.

I know the inventor / owner well (used to work with them).

cheers
