Insurance valuation for Classic Car policy
Discussion
Chaps,
Got a good quote from Classic line for my 993C2, I'll probably take.
Couple of points, they want a valuation form completed by an assesor or valuer. Any idea the easiet way of doing this? Does PCGB do this? Not a member yet, but could join.
Also, I have three years no-claims, this was not asked and is not stated on the policy documents. Is this usual for classic policies? Do I still acrue no claims?
I'll call them on Tue, but if anyone knows...
Cheers,
Al.

I never had to get a form filled out for my classic policy but I would give PCGB a call and see what they recommend. Alternatively try a Porsche specialist. Either way you should expect to pay them something for their time completing the form.
Classic policies normally ignore no claims bonus and because of this, IIRC you will lose it if you don't use it on another car within two years of the last such policy. I've had a classic policy for four years now and to retain my ncb, I insure myself on my wife's car one year (with her as a named driver) and the next year she is insured with me as a named driver. It's a pain, but I do save lots with a classic policy.
