Well nearly; partly designed and built by those nice men in Zuffenhausen having raided the corporate parts bin, I reckon its about as close as it gets to owning a Porker without having to have the badge.

As previewed yesterday my 315bhp, sub 5 second 0-60 "practical" 5 door estate arrives today. And yes, I'm excited.

Doubtless you'll hear of my experiences and spot said beastie at PH gatherings. Until then its just me and Whoozit in the exclusive PH RS2 owners club - unless you lurkers who have one in the garage care to make yourselves known.

Oh, and no fears: the Cerbera is not leaving me, and will be used just as much as before.

As the contemporary Performance Car road test remarked: "labrador sedatives are optional".

I looked into getting one, but made the fatal mistake of buying a Vauxhall/Lotus collaboration, rather than aan Audi/Porsche one. £7k in maintenance bills later, I realised I had been a complete tit.

Anyway, I had loads of reviews of the RS2 - and in the bizzare test of RS2 vs C4 993, the 993 beat it for handling, enjoyment etc. But where was the like with like? You couldn't get the labrador in the 993...

So what I'm saying Jez, is once you've been seduced by the build quality and engineering prowess of a Porsche fettled product, you may want to step up to a 911 I reckon you'll be getting a GT3 when the Cerb gets replaced

Second only in build quality to the forthcoming TVR/Trabant joint venture.

Yup, got that one. You seem to fail to mention that the RS2 beat the 993 on performance Dom .....

Only by a fraction I'll wager, since it must weigh about 1600Kg. I saw two at the Brighton Speed Trials easily beaten by a standard Griffith 500 a few years back.
