in a nutshell they are superb. buy a 2001 onwards with facelift and 3.6 engine. make sure it still has a manufacturers warranty and ALWAYS extend it (costs about £750 per year).
the carrera's and turbo can easily be used as a daily car, the gt2 / 3 / rs much less so.
don't worry about forum hype about things that go wrong. as a rule of thumb, if it's under warranty you'll be ok.
you will not regret getting one.
so what are you waiting for?

Depends what you want, but I'd go for a c2 over a c4 as I prefer a less diluted driving experience. c4s are safer though
In terms of a buyers guide, there are a few things you need to check but surely you'd be better off paying a specialist to inspect any car you are considering. I think there was a 3.4 buyers guide in a back issue of GT Purely Porsche, but I haven't got my mags to hand to check which issue
Could maybe ring their backissues line and ask them which one.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
