Finally..... it's going to be on the road
Discussion
Having owned a 944S for nearly 2 years and never driven it (I got it as a project from a guy at work after the cam belt snapped), it's going to be on the road in the next couple of weeks.
I had cracked on and bought a lot of the bits to rebuild the engine, stripped the old one down to get the good bits off and dropped the engine on the garage floor. Then work and a small child got in the way of me doing any more.
Last week, my wife said that she would pay for the engine to be rebuilt and put back in for me as a birthday present :)
So Kevin from EMC is coming to pick the car up on Sunday morning, and he says I'll have it back 2 weeks later.
Happy? Me? Just a bit :D

I have two 944s, one is a S2 Cab, and a 928. Each one is like a fine bottle of wine, they all have their own personality, and they are all superb road cars in their own right. You're going to love driving the car. Yes, they are that good. For your reference, I suggest you check out the following link

because it has some tips on gear lube for the 944 transaxle, motor pics, owners manual info, etc.
regards, and happy 944 motoring.

Thanks for the tip. I'm looking forward to driving it after it sitting in the garage for getting on for 2 years. I remember seeing them when they first hit the streets, and I always loved the looks and the design. Finally a Porsche with the engine at the right end
I have a few other jobs to do on the car, but they're all non priority jobs, like new seats, a couple of minor dings on the bodywork and a respray. Other than that, it's a top notch car. I got it from the original owner, and he'd always looked after it pretty well.

That's me
I've just been out in the garage getting it ready for him to pick up in the morning. Got the engine off the subframe, put the suspension and wheels back on etc.
He said it'll only take 2 weeks to have the car ready and back to me, which I'm really looking forward to. I'm also getting him to give the rest of the car a service and put an MOT on the car while he has it, so it'll all be ready to go when I get it back.
Now I just have to figure out some insurance.....

Ahh.. so you're why kevin's working on a Sunday! I have to go and pick my car up from him when he brings yours in.
Kevin reularly works his magic on my S2... top bloke and fantastic work!
Kevin picked the car up this morning, and was heading off to see you on his way home.
You're right. He's a very nice chap. Now I just have to wait a couple of weeks for him to fix the car, and I'll finally know what it's like to drive a 944
