How much do Porsche dealers pay for new cars

It must be a lot to keep them shiny showrooms going!
An independent BMW motorbike dealer near me with a large showroom suddenly got told by BMW that they had to replace all of their showroom floor tiles as they needed to match with the corporate colour scheme, all at their own expense. It cost them thousands and with much disruption, but they had to comply to remain a BMW dealer. The Gauge said:

Personally I can't stand the fact that all these showrooms look exactly the same and are all equally bland. As a customer it makes it alienating, not welcoming and says nothing about the brand apart from "we're boring!! TEKNOPUG said:
I live half way between 2 OPCs and I'm not sure why I would choose one over the other. The showrooms are near identical, as are the prices and experience. I would have though Porsche would want OPCs competing with one another and thus raising the standards of both?
Nah, they want as much of your money for as little effort as possible.elisered said:
Used to be 17.5% across the board when I worked at an OPC but that was a long time ago. I imagine now there’ll be differences by model but around that ballpark still. And that’s on vehicle and options.
think it must be close to that. there's a recently discounted car which apparently owes the garage what it's advertised at now and discount works out close to 17% The Gauge said:

£400 for a wheel alignment but we'll give you a discount to £240. No before or after print out, just "it's done"......

I'd expect a print out, even Thick Fit manage that!

Lets face it, they are only adjsuting the same components and getting to the same parameters. If the OPC want to us titanium spanners thats there problem. And if they cagrge a fortune for labour, they should be so efficient the labour content should be less as they are faster...

Been quoted £340 by my OPC for wheel alignment on a Macan our SD family wagon ,after they spotted the front inners more worn on the inside than the middle and outer edges .Still 4-5 mm tread .
Rears even wear as comparison…..well they would be as they don’t turn .
Thick Fit did my Ferrari for £60 on there Hunter .You can see it , the tech gets the car up on the touch screen and as he adjusts the track rod ends you can see the values go from red to green .It felt 100 x better BTW the steering feel .Yes you come home with a print out .
I can’t imagine any tech inc a OPC prattling about with rear camber or toe in ….ie dismantling the suspension shimming it adding spaces after removing bolts .
I suspect they ( in a front uneven wear case ) just do a 10 min track rod end job .
I thought a £60 quid 1/2 hr on a Hunter bit of kit is about right ?

In my case they had the car for the 114 point warranty inspection and renewal, a full service and an MoT.
It failed the MoT because it needed a new rear offside tyre, which it had worn unevenly. Which I pointed out to them when I dropped it of.
At no point during any of this 4 figure work did they think to adjust the rear offside toe. But they'll do it for a special price of £250.... jokers.

If you look at the publicly available accounts of one of the independent OPCs, you can see the turnover & cost of sales the one I looked at was at 11.5% gross profit, that will be overall margin from car sales new and used plus parts and servicing, but it gives you good idea that their main activity (selling cars) isn't margin rich.
