Can anybody help with a persistant loss of water problem from the cooling system with my 2001 Boxster. When engine is heated up and running, the loss of water is not immediate. In fact I can run the car for a day or two but with gradual loss of water from the system (no apparent leak but from condensation into the boot - so from the cap or overflow). The cap to the system has been changed. The fans are working. Porsche tell me that "air in system" has been removed. BUT still once engine turned off there seems a lot of heat around the engine and also the inside of the boot is drenched with condensation, resulting in drop in water level? Any advise would be appreciated prior to going back to Porsche for another excessive bill!!

A good "old fashioned" local garage should be able to pressure test the cooling system (without the engine running). This should establish if there are any leaks via gaskets: at worst it could be a leaking head gasket pressurising the system. There are various other possibilities which apply to all cars, not just Boxsters. Once you have diagnosed it at least you can phone around for quotes.

Would have to agree with 4wheeldrifter exactly. I take it the exhaust isnt blowing out plumes of white smoke.
