Boxter clutches and my knackered one?

Anyone know how long a std Boxer (04 plate) clutch is supposed to last, changing one after 15k miles as my dealer reckons is nearly shot.

Depth left was down to 0.22mm in areas, is this a common problem.

I'd say yes, they are made from margarine. Mine went at 18K - friends at 12K. My trusty old primera is hitting 110K with the original clutch and the same monkey behind the wheel.

Mine's as good as new at 19700 miles...

But they do have a reputation for being made of chocolate...

My old 2.5 was on the original clutch at 48K miles when I sold it.
