Problem with indicator
Discussion
Tricky one: the left hand indicator on my 2000 996 has stopped working. The lights outside do not work, nor does the dash indicator, nor the clicking sound. The right one works perfectly. Checked the fuse, and it's the same fuse for both indicators so not that. Any ideas before I blow much-needed cash to get it fixed at an OPC/independant?
Does sound like stalk switch, although the only wiring diagram I can find at the mo is for a 912.
Are you handy with an AVO?
Check output from the control stalk. You should get 12V on L & R outputs (I don't know colours)when switched. R is obviously outputting 12V, so to check the switch, test for voltage on the output for the left side. If it's on the same principle as the 912 internals, there'll be two outputs.
This may help, or it may mislead you, but it'll show you in principle what's going on.

Just a thought, if it is the stalk, how about getting the OBC turned on at the same time? If you haven't got an OBC, then you could for just a few pennies more. Buy the three stalk unit instead and read up on this before you decide
