944 Tyres

I am considering buying Bridgestone N2's for my 89 944 Turbo. Any views either way on performance. I am looking for a relatively hard compound with good grip in the dry, moderate life. Cheers

I used to use Goodyear Eagle F1s on my 944s. They were cheaper than most good tyres and performed well. Plus they made nice patterns when you drove through a puddle

Yup just had G/Y F1 GSD3 on the front of the 944 & I'm very pleased with them.
They were recomended by my tyre dealer over Conti Contacts N1 as he reckoned they'd be better as they are newer technolgy. "Incidentally if the manufacturer doesn't do an N rated tyre then you can fit it providing size & speed rating is correct.
However if they make an N rated tyre then they cannot fit that make in non-N otherwise his insurance is invalid".

Im a huge fan of the Falken FK451... cheaper than the goodyear eagle.. but just as sexy!

The Falken FK451 is a great price/performance combo. My 928 GT loves them. Phenomenal grip in both the dry and the wet, although they tend to wear out quickly. I get on average 6K out of my rears and 8K out of the fronts. But at £67 per tyre it is difficult to complain, isn't it?
