996 TT X50 PSE (Performance Exhaust)

Hi, As you are probably aware (I think I am right in saying this) there is no Official Porsche Sports exhaust option for 996 TT. I know you can buy the quad-oval tips but that it is just a cosmetic enhancement.

I popped into my OPC and they said that they are aftermarket exhausts out there - and although the warranty will be 'technically affected' it would be unrealisitic for Porsche to blame the fitment of an after-market exhaust for any potential warranty claim.

My question therefore is - are there any decent sounding (subjective I know) exhausts available that actually have a performance benefit for the 996 TT. I have the X50 option as well... I do not know if that affects anything???

I have a Milltek exhaust on mine and it sounds awesome... Not sure which members here have heard it since it was fitted... Nickster, Shadytree, Nutskie all have.

Would it be neccesary to adjust the cars 'Brain' when simply adding a Sports Exhaust, I would imagine not... but I am not sure...?

The TT aftermarket exhaust systems include cats,generally these are racing cats (less cells than a standard system)which reduce back pressure, hence increase power! But this makes the systems expensive and they don't generally last as long as the standard cats.
I've got a Cargraphic system,

benefits : sound great, turbos spool up faster, bit of extra grunt

negatives : boomy around the 2k revs, can be a bit too loud outside under full throttle!

I purchased mine secondhand and think it is a very worthwhile addition, but wouldn't see it worthwhile if I was paying £3-4k for a set up. i'd either look to one of the cheaper systems or buy second hand

I've seen an example. Superb quality.

If you get the 100 cell cat version they remap to give 500 bhp approx. The cost is frightening (about 5 grand I think). The 400 cell version needs no adjustment (2.5 grand) but gives no power increase.

The noise I am told is awesome with no boom-band.

I thought Porsche did an official stainless sports system?
