Anyone done this recently at their OPC?
Curious as to the allowable grace period, am I correct in thinking it was 30 days before an inspection would be needed?
Spoke to my local OPC today, advised it was now 5 days?! I’m away for a month when my renewal is due, car will be sat doing nothing, so I’m of a mind to leave it until I return.

I had a conversation about this recently, and was told 30 days.
Do you know you can renew it over the phone? They'll send you a payment link by email, and once paid, they will send you a contract to sign, which you then send back.
But you do know you can renew well in advance? Nothing to stop you from doing it now.

I renewed mine this week for a Macan. I did it 3 weeks in advance of the expiry (as SkinnyPete suggests you just need to call your local dealer’s Service area and they will send a payment link to renew). Paperwork then follows in the post and it renews on the expiry date. My info didn’t include anything about a grace period, so I would do it in advance if you are away over renewal
I did mine over the phone. If you're still in the current warranty period there is no need for the 111 point check however, if you're out of warranty and decide to take one out then you'll need to pay for the inspection. As mentioned, I'd ring them up 4 weeks before expiry and renew.
It's also worth looking at renewing the Porsche Assist. It's cheaper than the RAC and includes European cover.

as above, I have 2 cars on the warranty and I always renew over the phone and pick up the paperwork when I drop by as the OPC is close to me. No need for inspection if the car is FSH and has a warranty. It's also worth looking at renewing the Porsche Assist. It's cheaper than the RAC and includes European cover.
And thank god for that as my 991 just had a new PDK installed this week due to a failure...
My warranty was renewed in March, I got a letter from Porcshe about a month ahead of the expiry date inviting me to renew.
I had to make an appointment and go into my OPC Glasgow) and renew in person.
A bit of a PITA, but heyho. No big shakes.
It has just paid for itself as my PSE is being replaced under warranty due to seized valves👍

I found recently that OPCs were a bit rubbish about responding to warranty renewal requests. One OPC (who sold me my car new, and have done all the work on it) literally never called me back, and another took 3 days to return a call, despite me chasing a few times. I got the impression that although it should be easy money, warranty renewal admin wasn't at the top of their priority list, so don't leave it too late to renew!
Porsche GB are certainly getting much more picky on things that can be refused under the extended warranty, especially interior and exterior trim faults. In the past I've had common irritants fixed like blown Bose speakers, or crazed and warped plastic B-pilar trims. More recently they've rejected recurrence of those and other similar problems, although they did pay out a small fortune to replace all my rear LED light units (full of water) so it wasn't all bad. The Porsche warranty is still brilliant for mechanical cover, far better than competitors like Ferrari's Power scheme, but watch out for exclusions that intersect with areas where build quality is slipping.

This is always been my thought, but as time goes on there’s nothing I could replace it with, not without spending £100k.I will, however, switch to independent servicing when the car is 15.

I had exactly the same experience with Edinburgh.After 3 calls not returned I gave up and called Newcastle who did it over the phone at the first time of asking. This will only be my third year with my 718 and third warranty renewal, but the wording has always contained an exclusion for something like defects which are audible or visual only and do not affect performance of the car (i.e. rattles or aesthetic stuff).Porsche GB are certainly getting much more picky on things that can be refused under the extended warranty, especially interior and exterior trim faults. Glasgow OPC can be really mixed depending what department you're dealing with. I've found the warranty and servicing guys to be decent, but they have their own bodyshop now and trying to get in touch with them was impossible. Multiple calls and emails not returned.

I also had a nightmare with Edinburgh OPC, their front of house is a bit of a gong show. I’ve just got my opc quote for £2300 for the 6 year service. I’m at 34k miles. Car Seems perfect. That’s without plugs.
Feels like a real junction to go Indy. I’ve spent 6 months thinking about getting something more exotic like a 720s but decided against it so if I’m truly keeping the car for the long haul then seems like the right thing to go Lichfield/indy/no warranty.
It’s an exciting but daunting prospect… the pdk feels like the area of risk.

Snap. our turbo s is due 6 year service at 36k miles and it renews diff oil, pdk oil quite a bit of stuff needs doing. We were quoted £2200 by Reading. We are PCGB members and Bournemouth gave us 25% discount so same service for £1600 with loan carFeels like a real junction to go Indy.
