Opinions for a complete porsche novice?
Serial supercar owner and have a collection but i have been offered one of these but never been into Porsche but having been out in it, its quite impressive and it takes a lot these days
Condition, history and mileage are good, not had an over rev report done yet (which ive heard discussed on here)
Are there some must haves for re-sale? as i’ll only keep 6-12mths probably.

Over Revs not generally on radar as PDK
Spec - they came with good standard trinkets but there’s always a few key items. For me, prefer extended leather and not plastic
Not everyone a fan of the red/black interior - basic black quite rare.
Not much choice on colour as U.K. C16 devoid of PTS
Crayon & Miami unfortunately crazy as it gets

Well they aren't going up massively in a hurry so be prepared to lose the margin come 6 months time.Serial supercar owner and have a collection but i have been offered one of these but never been into Porsche but having been out in it, its quite impressive and it takes a lot these days

I can’t help you with your questions, but it is one of the few new(ish) Porsches I would like to own. I am just scratching my head a little about the prices (Germany) as the asking prices still seem to be above list (incl options), even for the highest mileage ones out there (I checked recently and the cheapest one was still 340+ with sth like 40k on the clock - which seems odd to me given they are not exactly rare as best as I can tell (I saw figures of more than 4000 built in total). As a comparison they built a little more than 1000 of the 996 and 997 GT2 each and only about 300ish Clubsports each I think plus the 997 RS with 500 or 600 units (forgot which).
It might help value retention that the 992 RS, which is not supposed to be far off, will probably start in the mid 300s

Thanks gents, thats helpful
I’ll dig more on this particular one, theres also a gt2rs which although a lot more, is even rarer obviously.. both lhd to which suits me more & helps value stability even further
Thanks mdl, never got yo catch up with you in munich for a lambo jolly but i managed 200 on the autobahn when there 4 weeks ago, which was a bucket list thing, not in the aventador sadly but the dbs, bit of an anti climax really, should have done it years ago when it was more a chalenge
Absolutely loved germany and its road network and the people, dont know why weve always just driven through on way to coast, going back for a longer stay in spring when it warms again.. i think its whats spiked my interest in porc, when in rome

Maybe next time. It is about 10 degrees here now, so I suspect summer is truly over and most of the cars won t see the road again until April - rather depressing
I managed about 3k km in the Murcielago over the last 2ish months, so pretty happy with that. Highest speed I managed, I doubt I will ever get anywhere close to 200 - even at that speed it felt a bit uncomfortable - partly probably the lack of roof

Incidentally I think the only time o got close to 200 was in my GT2 - that thing was fast . Until I crashed an put myself in hospital (young and stupid, luckily just about survived to tell the story and learn from it)
996? was only talking to someone this morning who offered me one, you know they called it the widowmaker
I think 170mph is pretty respectable in the murci tbh, especially a soft top as the noise can be very unerving, my dbssl is a volante and even that was getting a bit noisy at 200, wouldnt want to max it and i’d wager my aventador would have been more scary / exciting, read as you will

Lake Constance we loved, and ive enlisted on one of Motorsworld glass display cabinets to store the Aventador over winter, maybe the munich one so its handy for spring delights, for now we’re on the med till it turns too cold..

997 GT2 (luckily Clubsport, otherwise dog and I would have been very dead). I did 10k km in it from early December until early April (to the day 4 months from delivery to write-off). GT2s are very special cars imo and I would love another one for warm days. It did make me realise what the consequences of crashing at Autobahn speeds are, so I take it relatively easy nowadays. Looking back on the crash and how it happened, I think my dog switched off the traction control when he moved around on the centre console (not sure it would have saved me, but I remember it felt like the tyres were breaking traction under acceleration a few minutes earlier).
I want to take the Murcielago across the Alps to Italy next year, so spring cannot come soon enough. If you store your car at the Motorworld in Munich, we should definitely meet up for a drive in the area - lots of lovely roads.
as an aside, I don't know if I would be able to walk past one like this (maybe not this one as it had accident damage - tbc how bad with a 33k bill) and buy a 991. Especially if value retention is a consideration (for me the manual would be the key selling point followed by the rarity)
